JMC- AN INTRODUCTION

Jammu Municipal Corporation, the erstwhile Jammu Municipality was established after the reforms under taken by Lord Rippan in the first quarter of 19th Century. The Provision of elective element in the Municipalities was introduced in the Year 1930. Next step towards the development of Municipality in the state was the passage of J & K Municipal Act 1941.

In the 51st year of Republic of India, the State Legislature passed the J & K Municipal Corporation Act 2000, giving it status of Jammu Municipal Corporation. With the upgradation to the Status of Jammu Municipal Corporation the city has been divided into 71 wards. Its present population is 5.03 lakhs, floating population 10 lakhs and density of 5,697/sqkm.

JMC- एक परिचय

जम्मू नगर निगम, नगर पालिका के तहत तत्कालीन जम्मू सुधारों 19 वीं सदी की पहली तिमाही में भगवान Rippan द्वारा उठाए के बाद स्थापित किया गया था। नगर पालिकाओं में वैकल्पिक तत्व का प्रावधान राज्य में नगर पालिका के विकास की दिशा में वर्ष 1930 के अगले चरण में पेश किया गया था जम्मू-कश्मीर नगरपालिका अधिनियम 1941 के पारित होने गया था।

भारत गणराज्य के 51 वें वर्ष में, राज्य विधानमंडल जम्मू-कश्मीर नगर निगम अधिनियम 2000 पारित किया है, यह जम्मू नगर निगम का दर्जा दे रही है। जम्मू नगर निगम की स्थिति के उन्नयन के साथ शहर के 71 वार्डों में विभाजित किया गया है। इसके वर्तमान आबादी 5.03 लाख, अस्थायी आबादी 10 लाख और 5697 / वर्ग किलोमीटर का घनत्व है।
